We record primarily on Zoom, using personal devices. We record to the cloud so that we can download and transfer the video to Box on a MAC Lab computer.
- [ ] Launch a Zoom meeting from your personal meeting room
- [ ] Click record —> record to the cloud
- [ ] If doing multiple studies in one session, stop the recording and start a new recording in the same Zoom session (it makes it much easier on you later)
- [ ] Once you have started the recording, turn brightness all the way down (as to not distract the child) and say something like “I’m making the screen dark, but mom/dad can still see you, okay?”
If you are testing in the lab, set up the testing room laptops so that the parents can watch the session through Zoom:
- [ ] There are two computers in the testing room cubicles
- Username: dukechildstudies, Password: teamwork=dreamwork
- Go to chrome, and select the bookmarked tab called “testing room Zoom”
- Click your Zoom link and join the Zoom
- [ ] Make sure you turn both the camera and microphone off
- Let yourself in from your personal laptop, and then make the session full screen on the second laptop
If smaller videos need to be taken throughout, you can do this on a MAC Lab iPad through the camera app. These videos must be transferred to Box immediately after the session.
- [ ] Select all relevant recordings in Photos app and click the export button
- [ ] Select Box —> Files —> Mind & Culture Lab —> Active Studies…
- The pin is 8091
- [ ] Go through all the steps to export and make sure videos are fully uploaded by checking Box on your laptop
- [ ] Delete the recordings from the iPad (it is okay to leave them in the trash folder as they will auto delete after 30 days)
The next time you are back at a MAC Lab computer, transfer the main session video(s) to Box. We CANNOT do this on personal devices for data privacy reasons.
- [ ] Log into your Duke Zoom account on a browser on a MAC Lab computer
- [ ] Find the correct session video, and download the video (we do not need the transcript or the audio file)
- [ ] Put it into the right folder in box & label appropriately
